A meeting will be held on Wednesday (today) to figure out a solution for Pakistani engineering students whose degrees, despite being completed from Hungary, have not been recognised by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Representatives from the Ministry of Education, membersof the National Assembly Standing Committee on Federal Education and officials from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) will be present at the meeting.
`We are going to hold a meeting to resolve the issue of Pakistani engineers who completed their graduation in Hungary.
This is unfortunate that these engineers are not being recognised by the Pakistan Engineering Council,` said Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on CDA Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan.
`We will explore, if new legislation is required or exams are required. We want a solution and we cannot leave these brilliant students unattended who completed their engineering from Hungary a leading European country but their degrees are not being recognised here,` Mr Awan said. Earlier, this issue was discussed in the National Assembly and was referred to the standing committee.
Later, a subcommittee headed by MNA Mehnaz Akbar Aziz, Ali Nawaz Awan, Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and Dr Shazia Sobia was formed to further look into the issue.
